ER Graduate Eleanor Gibson MacDonald, wife of Wayne MacDonald and daughter of Cecil & Marie Gibson R.R. 2 Blackstock, graduated with Honours from Ryerson on Thursday June 14, 1990 with the degree Bachelor of Social Work. Rockin good time at Scugog arena Scugog Arena is the place to be August 17 and 18, for five straight hours of down-home southernrock. * In co-operation with Labatt's Blue, twenty local auto indus- try businesses are presenting "Festival of Sound 1990". The drawing card is "The Taylor Brothers Band", the heart of Southern Rock. The band is from South Carolina, and is a tribute band to Lynard Skynard. "Rust", a band originally from Oshawa, will perfrom the opening shows. They are a trib- ute band to crooner Neil Young. The doors will open at 6 p.m. both nights. Beginning at 7p.m., there will be five straight hours of music which will delight fans of both country and rock music. Admission to the event is $15, and is restricted to those 19 years of age and older. Pro- ceeds from the event will go to the Port Perry Community Hospital. The Kinsmen Club of port Perry will be tending the ar. The sponsoring businesses are getting together to present what they hope is a "down- home good time" for all. They are promoting a good atmos- phere with bands with "clean- mouthed" lyrics.
