The Port Perry Broomball Association would like to an- nounce their upcoming tourna- ment Sat. & Sun., October 20 & 21 Bernie Aldread Andy Andrews Norrine Cook Robert Dobson Ross Fairman Kent Farndale Velma Foster Don Foster John Foster Mary Hanson Grace Hunter Bob Jameson Frank Kapuscinski Raymond Kerry at the Port Perry Arena. Blackstock ° leads things off for the Port teams at 9 a.m. followed by Monsma at 9:45, Woody's 11:15; Framers 12:45, Merchant Ladies at 3:45, B & R/Swamp 4:30 and Emmersons at 6 p.m. A bar will be set up at the Scout Hall with a dance to be held Sat. evening. The Port Perry Broomball Association would like to thank the organization that gave up their ice time to make this tour- nament possible. The roster for the Pee Wee "B"' team sponsored by Scugog Overhead Door is pretty well set. There is still some shuffling of players from house league to fill one vacancy, and the goaltending has not been finalized yet, but for the most part the squad will con- sist of: Brad Shanley, Kent Taylor, Kirk Swain, Rob Gracie, Jason Logan, Brad Morton, Kevin Gray, Tim Fitzpatrick, Todd Parry, Greg Thompson, Terry Jellicoe, Matt Phillips, Chris Drury and Jason Vader. Goaltending at the moment is being handled by Jamie Trick and Brandon Hammond. The team was involved against some very stiff competition in ex- hibition play this past weekend. They were lured to the cold con- fines of the Little Britain arena Saturday morning by the Red Wing team from Oshawa. The oppposition dominated this one from the opening whistle and while there were brief flashes of around the flelds. brilliance, our side only managed one lone marker in the second period by Brad Morton from Tim- my Fitzpatrick. On Saturday evening exhibition play continued at home against Whitby. Once again the visitors dominated play for the most part but Port was able to double their output for the day by scoring two goals, both by Greg Thompson with and assist going to Brad Morton. Lots of line shuffling these days as coach Bruce Gracie is trying to come up with a winning combina- tion. He may have to resort to steroid use, as our opposition to date have looked huge. A back injury to Todd Parry gave players and fans alike, some very anxious moments late in the game on Saturday night. He has to get some R & R for a few days and we look forward to having him back in the line-up. His spirited effort and dogged deter- mination is sorely missed. , THANK YOU The Greenbank Gamblers Fastball Club would like to express a sincere THANK YOU to the following members of the 1990 Greenbank Gamblers "Booster Club". The players and management of the team are most ap- preciative of your support and look forward to entertaining you again in 1991.
