wr Re i AE : life of popular young man A Scugog Township man has died after an early morning mo- tor vehicle accident Friday. Richard (Rick) Taylor, 32, was returning home from work- ing the night shift at General Motors when the vehicle he was driving went out of control and struck another vehicle driven by Thaeir Dawod, 31, of Ajax. Mr. Dawod's injuries are de- scribed to be serious, but not life-threatening. The accident occurred on the Island Road just north of the 10th Concession. Mr. Taylor was northbound PORT PERRY MERCHANTS on the highway, heading for his Stephenson Road home, while Mr. Dawod was southbound when the accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. Staff Sgt. Bill Van Doleweerd said no charges will be laid. Mr. Taylor leaves a wife, Jan- ice, sons Robbie and Jonathon, parents Jerome and Sandra, and brothers Jerry Jr., Daniel and his wife Peggy, and James and his wife Debbie. Funeral services were held Monday at the Low and Low Funeral Home in Port Perry. A 36-year old Prince Albert man has been sentenced to two years less a day after being con- victed of dangerous driving. Kevin Stuart Murray was handed the sentence last week by Justice William Lane of the Ontario Court, General Divi- sion, Whitby. Murray had earlier plead- ed guilty to failing to remain at the scene of an accident July 20 on the Oshawa-Newcastle Town Line that took the life of 11-year old Jamie New of Oshawa.
