Of course this is the season to be jolly, but it's also a good time to be thinking of those who aren't. The open hand of hospitality for the casual acquaintance who is a stranger in town or community, the extra thought for someone who needs but doesn't expect it; these are prime targets for this season. Our Congratulations On Saturday evening, November 24th a social evening was held in the Caesarea Church Hall to honour The Rev. & Mrs. Crawford on their recent mar- riage and to say good-bye before they depart for their home in England. Norma and Klaas Spek and Mrs. Arney had prepared a delicious first course and other friends brought desserts. When the supper was over Norma Spek made a presentation to the honoured couple. They received a beautiful painting; an attractive teapot and a love-bird clock-a thing of beauty. Rev. and Mrs. Crawford thanked the group and then a sing song and games were enjoyed by all - young and older. Rev. and Mrs. Crawford plan to return to Canada, to their Caesarea home for a brief stay in the spring. Very best wished to them from this area. 40th Anniversary Held Mrs. Neta Fish of Cadmus, at- tended the 40th wedding anniver- sary of Peter and Doreen Fish of Sonya, on Sunday afternoon, November 25. The festivities were held at their daughter Jennifer and Kerry Hughson's home in Seagrave. A lovely event with a large number of relatives and friends present to wish them well. Our best to them from this area. Good News We have had wonderful news this Sunday evening. Neighbour Walter Welts phoned to tell us that his wife Irma Welts received her new kidney transplant on Friday at Toronto General Hospital. The kidney is working, and if it is suc- cessful she will be home in two weeks. Irma has waited so long for this magic day, and we are so - very happy for her. She would be pleased to hear from friends. Her address: Toronto General Hospital, 200 Elizabeth Street (Gerrard Wing) M5G 2C4. Sad News So sorry friend Neta Fish had the misfortune to fall when atten- ding the Nursing Home Bazaar in Port Perry on Saturday. Her right side - although no broken bones, had to be bandaged at the Hospital. But, she is made of durable material and will come along well; you may be sure. Our 'very best wishes' to a very fine friend. Nestleton Presbyterian Church The first candle in Advent, the candle of Hope, was lit by Mr. George Scott in the Nestleton Presbyterian Church. Rev. Wm.
