The Legionnaires came out flying, taking a 3-0 lead after the first stanza. The first goal came from Zaparanuik as he one-timed a centering pass from Tom Chambers. The 2nd goal came off the stick of Tredway. Picking up assists were LeFort and King. The final goal of the first period was scored by Hobbs on a nice playmaking session from Bourgeois and Chambers. Port's final two goals came in the second frame. Scoring were King and Shrigley. Assists to LeFort, Laird, Geer and Tredway. In the third period, Port seemed to slack off just a tinge, which resulted for three tallies for Uxbridge. Final score - Legion 6, Uxbridge 3. Goalies Prechitko and Hammond played well throughout the match. vs. Bowmanville In Port's previous games against Bowmanville, Port had not faired well, losing twice and managing to grab a tie. This meant Port would be hungry for a win. Bowmanville grabbed the scoring twice. Port came creep- ing back though, folks. It was Tredway scoring two dazzling goals. Assisting on both goals were linemates King and LeFort. The Toros came back scoring just once, but if you know the boys on the Legion, you know that they just never give up. Port came back with two in the | defeat Uxbridge second. Scoring twice was King. Both were assisted by you know who, LeFort and Tredway. Bowmanville scored a late one in the second, but Port scored one even later, :44 seconds to be ex- act. It was Tredway bagging what hockey personalities call the hat trick. It was a one man ef- fort as he grinded to the net and beat the Bowmanville netminder. After the second Port headed in- to the dressing room with a slim 5-4 lead. Onto the third where both teams kept pumping the goals in. Port was starvin' for the win and it showed as the Legion broke out for three. The first goal came from King as he netted his hat trick also. Picking up assists on the play were Tredway & LeFort. The second goal came from Bourgeois as he received a Hobbs pass and put it upstairs. Also pick- ing up an assist was Clarke. Port's only other goal came from Geer, with linemates Laird and Shrigley assisting. Bowman- ville managed to only slip 2 by Prechitko in the third who played fabulous. Port came out with an 8-6 victory. Mr. Teno was forced to take over head coach for the night as Mr. Geer was absent on the occa- sion. Thanks to Ivan Geer and Ralph McCullough for helping on the players bench. Prechitko was forced to make many brilliant blockages of the puck. I'll tell ya, he faced more rubber than dead skunks on the 401. VINYL SIDING (8" white) S 58% $4. (approx. 100 sg. ft.)
