To mark this festive occasion, they are having a pot- luck supper on July 20, with a huge birthday cake made by one of the residents, Angela Willis. As usual there are many interesting activities going on during the season; but, the big project is restoring the Pavilion; built in 1925; that has held many a hap- py event over the years. Happy 70th birthday to Williams Point! Happy Event Bryan and Trish Cawker of Kit- chener, are proud to announce the arrival of their first child, Dylan Arthur, born on July 5, 1991, at Kitchener Waterloo Hospital, weighing in at 7 lbs. 11 ozs. First grandchild for Arthur & Carroll Cawker of Sudbury, 'and 17th grandchild for Wile and Kathleen Fay of Dublin, Ireland. Great-grandchild for Sam and Mabel Cawker of Nestleton. Festival A Success The 19th annual Festival Days in Port Perry, Country 91, was a tremendous success, held Thurs- day, Friday and Saturday, with a large number of folks enjoying themselves to the utmost! All kinds of activities to please young and old. An entertaining three days for the whole family! The Scugog Chamber of Commerce deserves a big pat on the back! Nestleton United Church An enjoyable worship service was held on Sunday, July 14, at 11:15 a.m. in the church basement to be a help to those not able to climb stairs. Arthur and Barb Weir were the friendly greeters at the door. Rev. Dale Davis, very relaxed and feeling at home in his new surroundings, presented an excellent message, both to the congregation and the children present. Jean Williams was the scripture reader. A duet by Kathy Tromans and Shirley Jackson en- titled, 'Keep That Moment Alive" was pleasing, with organist Gwen Malcolm at the piano. Offering received by Art Weir and Vic Tromans. This fine service clos- ed with "Of Thy Love' and Amen. Wedding Bells Mrs. Neta Fish, Cadmus, at- tended the lovely wedding of her niece Lisa Fish to George David- son of Sonya, held in St. John's Presbyterian Church in Port Perry on Saturday, July 6 at 7 p.m. A beautiful candlelight ser- vice with all in black and white was most effective! The reception was held at Lit- tle Britain Community Centre with a large number attending. Our *'best wishes' to this young couple for happiness! Congratulations! Arlene Davis, daughter of John and Ina Davis of Caesarea, graduated on June 1, from Wilfred Laurier University with a double honours B.A. degree in An- throoologv and History. Our warmest congratulations from this area to Arlene! Family Concerns Lawrence & Gwendolyn Malcolm, Nestleton, attended open house at Paul and Rebel Fords new home in Tottenham, Ontario on July 6. They were sup- per guests of Ruth Cowley, View Lake recently. They were Wednesday over- night guests of son Barry and Joan Malcolm and baby Emily of Simcoe and called on John Arnot and Mary VanNest at Brantford. Last Sunday, July 7, Carla Davis played a flute solo, unac- companied, for the Nestleton United Church Service. It was really much appreciated by the congregation present. Guests at the Cawker farm- stead since the 60th anniversary 15 were: Arthur and Carroll Cawker of Sudbury and Alan and Eleanor Cawker of Oshawa and friend Bil Cairns of Lindsay, who spent Wednesday with Sam and Mabel at the farm. We had lunch in Port Perry and a view of S.A. Cawker Public School, as well as a tour of Port Perry points of interect - then back to the farm for a salad supper. A very enjoyable day! An excellent neighbour, Chris Davis, has dropped in a couple of times during the week! Thought: Wear a smile, and have friends; wear a frown and have wrinkles. Mr. and Mrs. Armour McMillan visited with. Mrs. Grace Hadden on Wednesday. We are sorry to report Mrs. Marie Foster is a patient in the Western Hospital, Toronto. We wish her a speedy recovery. Don and Helen McKean attend- ed a lovely garden wedding in Tyrone at Willsona Farms on Saturday. Son Mark was joined in marriage to Miss Donna Morley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morley. Two attendants in the wedding party were Mark's daughter Ashley and son Scott. After a honeymoon in Vermont the happy couple will reside in Tyrone. Among the guests were Breen of Linday, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. David Giannini friends of Marks. Other visitors were from Hamilton, Lindsay, Niagara Falls, Vineland, Cambridge, Brighton, Oshawa, Bracebridge, also Donna's aunt from Washington State. A good crowd enjoyed the euchre party Friday evening. Ladies prizes were won by: Doris Evans, Verna Draper and Iva Phoenix. The mens by: Earla Hill, Harry Hill and Marie Cookman. Winners of the draws were Olive Ormiston, Mary Drewery and Earla Hill. The next euchre will be on August 9. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Cronsberry and Mr. and Mrs. Les Burrows of Sutton West visited with Fred and Iva Phoenix on Thursday. Helen and Morley Parish hosted a sisters and brothers get- together at their cottage on Mark's mother Mr. and Mrs. - Sunday.
