If you know the answers to these questions, you must have been preparing for the 4-H Go for the Gold Competition held in Greenbank on Aug. 1. Nine teams from the Dur- ham West 4-H Club entered the close competition, and the championship game between Uxbridge Dairy and North On- tario #2 Dairy was even closer. There was only a five point dif- ference in their scores. The final score put the Ux- bridge team back on top by the same margin they began with -- 145 points to North Ontario #2's 140. The winning team members from Uxbridge are Mark Irwin, Mike Wilson, Dave Moore and Rob Ashton. The organizers had the hard- est job of all, however, when picking the team to go to the regional championships. The judges watched all the teams and decided who best answered the most questions. Those chosen for a spot on the all-star team are Jon Firth, David Moore, Lorna Durward and Barclay Phoenix, with Karen Shier as an alternate. All participants received rib- bons and Cadbury Gold choco- late bars, the runner-up team received pennants and the win- ning team received plaques. The Uxbridge Dairy 4-H team came out on top in a close game against North Ontario #2 in the annual Go For the Gold Competition held on Aug. 4 in Greenbank.
