Durham’s ‘Ride for Dad’ makes a pit stop in Palmer Park for lunch Hundreds of motorcycles roared into Port Perry on June 13 and lined up along Water St., as more than 300 riders settled in for a barbecue in Palmer Park. Billed as the ‘Ride for Dad’, the annual ride raises awareness about prostate cancer. Last year’s ride raised $73,000 to help fight the dreaded disease. Above are just some of the motorcycles parked along Water St. and at left is National Ride Captain, Byron Smith of Ottawa, who travels across the province to participate in a number of ‘Ride For Dad’ events. There are 25 Chapters across Canada which all hold rides throughout the summer months.
