e Framer’s Gallery has completed its move toa new space two doors east of their familiar loca- tion at 237 Queen St. Tracy and Warren Strong, owners of The Framer’s Gallery have re-established their framing and quality artwork business at 233 Queen St., where they started out more than 20 years ago. After more than a year, the vacant floor space at 52 Water St. has landed a new tenant. T&H Nail Spa opened its doors for business at this location about a month ago, providing full manicure and pedicures as well as other related services. Another opening along Water St. comes in the former unit occupied by Curves Port Perry. Just opened during the past few weeks in this spot is Second Star Toys & Com- ics at 126 Water St. A surprise closure over the past month was the local M&M Meats store. This popular Port Perry frozen food franchise operated from its 1874 Scugog St. location for more than a decade. Fortunately, we see M&M Meats has re-opened under new management at the same location. It was also disappointing to hear that Durham Academy of Gymnastics closed its operation about four weeks ago. The academy which was owned and operated by Bonnie Sansom for 18 years was unfortunately unable to escape the downturn in the economy. Bonnie closed the acade- my’s doors, located at 27 Easy St., early last month. A couple of downtown businesses appear to be in the midst of moving locations, although exact dates have yet to be confirmed. Both F.M. Finds and the Cuddly Bunny have posted their intentions to move in the near future.
