Viking exhibit continues until January 17 at the Scugog Heritage Centre The Vikings came, saw and conquered Scugog last month, setting up a camp outside the Scugog Heritage Centre, providing locals a look at this ancient race of Nordic warriors. Since their arrival in November, the Scugog Heritage Centre has also been displaying artifacts in a show called Face to Face with the Vikings. The exhibit features 12 text panels along with original and reproduced artifacts from the Viking era. There is also a clothing display, chain mail armour, jewellery and two models of the Vikings familiar ships. Anyone who hasn’t had an opportunity to see this fascinating display should take some time out before the show moves on. Admission to Face to Face with the Vikings is $7 for adults, $3 for children (5 to 12) and free for children under 5. The Viking exhibit runs until January 17. The Scugog Heritage Centre is located at the rear of the Scugog Community Arena at 1655 Reach St., Port Perry. Entrance can be gained through the arena or from the parking lot on the east side of the building.
