Merchants will be offering fabu- lous savings on a wide selection of items throughout the night. As the moon rises, the prices will drop. Port Perry has always offered a unique and exciting shopping ex- perience and Moonlight Madness promises to be just as enjoyable with savings under the stars by the lake! So mark your calendars for Friday, June 25 and come on downtown. Farmers’ Market has returned to Port Perry As sure as spring brings rain, sun and new growth - it appears as if an- other thing to look forward to is the annual and popular Port Perry Farmers’ Market. lany area residents will recall the market years ago, when it was lo- cated at the local fairgrounds, but a new venue last year along Port Perry’s waterfront breathed new life into the venue. Throughout last summer hundreds of people trekked on down to the market, located on the parking lot in Palmer Park, to purchase fresh produce and other products from a variety of vendors. Due to the popularity last year, organizers are eager to get going again, and the Farmers’ Market opened Saturday, May 22 to begin a new, and hopefully even busier season. As usual, the market starts off a little slow due to lack of local produce, but it begins to pick up as the season progresses. 4 Once again there will be plenty to choose from when it gets rolling, with many of the staples, vegetables, bak- ing, fruits and crafts among the products available. And due to the popularity of the event last year, hours have been extended from 8 to 1 p.m. this year. The market will run every Saturday morning until the second Saturday in October. Not only is the Port Perry Farmers’ Market a great place to get fresh, local products for your kitchen table, it’s a great place to meet friends and spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning.
