After 15 years serving the residents of Scugog Town- ship, Mary Avery, owner of Mary Elle Facial Clinic has closed her business on Mary Street, Port Perry. She will be opening a new clinic in Orillia later in the year. Randy Lyon, owner of Uxport Tools is moving his business, effective July 5, to a new location in Unit 3 at 182 North Port Rd., Port Perry. Uxport Tools was former- ly located in town, at 88 Water Street. And while we’re out in that end of the township, we see that Pro Con Roofing and JDH Exteriors have opened a showroom at 96 North Port Road, Unit 1. Word is that the Scugog Standard underwent a partial change of ownership last month. A number of the local Standard shareholders report they have sold their inter- est in the paper to Dave Nguyen, president of Webnews Printing of Toronto. We see the windows of For The Love of Joe’s Coffee House are plastered with posters and the popular eatery has moved from their familiar spot at 261 Queen St. toa new location at 54 Water St., Port Perry. This was the lo- cation of Meats, Meals ‘N More before it closed. Accord- ing to the For The Love of Joe’s website, the new location will be opening on July 1. On the other side of Queen St., the building for- merly occupied by Shopper’s Drug Mart has its windows covered in brown paper and stands empty - just waiting for a new tenant. We hope this happens soon. Nancy Hickox of Hair Solutions, will move her busi- ness from 115 Perry St., to 84 Water St. effective July 1. Nancy takes over the former location and business of Essence of Beauty. Deb and Karen of Essence will continue to serve their customers from Hair Solutions.
