Heritage Centre opens new photo exhibit of Port Perry as it was...‘then and now’ The Scugog Shores Heritage Centre and Archives has opened its latest exhibit, called Port Perry: Then And Now. The exhibit, created by Studio 4 Photography and the North Durham Photographers’ Association has cleverly juxtaposed heritage photos from the museum archives with modern images to illustrate the ever changing his- tory of Port Perry. It’s further enhanced by a collection of antique camera equipment which reminds us how far removed photog- raphy of the past is from the standard digital equipment used by many people today. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the rebuild- ing of the town and many of its landmarks after the devasting fires of 1883 and 1884. Help us to celebrate the emergence of the Port Perry that we know today! The Port Perry: Then And Now exhibit is on display at the Scugog Shores Heritage Centre until August 29. The Centre, located at 1655 Reach Street, Port Perry, is open Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is $2.00 for adults, free for children under 12. The exhibit will be on display from June 10th — August 29th, 2010. ‘or more information please contact: Amy Barron at 905-985-8698 x 103 or email to: abarron@scugog.ca .
