Despite the 20th century's astonishing develop- ments in science, medicine and technology, some thii have remained constant. Children still play with dolls and farm sets. Skating, tobogganing and playing hockey remain an integral part of Canadian winters. All generations will enjoy this exhibition, celebrating what is common to us all! The exhibit will run from November 13 to February 27, 2011 in the Heritage Centre and Archives, 1655 Reach Street, 2nd floor of the Port Perry arena. Opening event: Saturday November 13 - 12 noon-4 p.m. Come and join ‘Funny Face the Clown’ for face painting and balloon animals. Hands-on toys and games in our exhibit area, and free treat bags to the first 50 kids! Admission: Adults - $4; Students and Seniors - $3; Children 5-12 - $2; Under 5 - free. COMMUNITY GIFT GIVING PROGRAM Joan Elliott and Jill Howsam, independent sales consultants with Mary Kay Cosmetics, are participating in the “Community Gift Giving” program in partnership with the Community Nursing Home. The program provides each resident of the nursing home with a Christmas gift. Each gift will be wrapped in a beautiful Christmas bag with a card attached from the donor. The cost of each gift is $20.00. Cheques can be made out to the “Community Gift Giving Program.” We will issue a receipt that can be used for advertising and promotion.
