Questions why there is a lack of respect and rudeness today Dear Editor, Ihave a situation that irked me that ought to be in your “Thumbs” section. On Saturday, October 30th, I was on my way to work and stopped in to fill up with gas. After filling my tank 1 proceeded inside to fill my caffeine addiction and get my double double for the day. There was only one employee working behind the counter at our Tim Horton's Express. The young girl was handling the pressure as well as anyone could dealing with a line-up in the store as well as the drive-thru. While waiting I had a conversation with a woman behind me. She was having a bad day and was telling me of her experience at the Tim Horton’s on 7A, about how rude one of the employees was to her. She was at the Express Timmy’s to fill out a com- plaint card because that same employee told her they didn’t have any left at their store. Anyway to make a long story short, this woman and I both got gas and were now waiting patiently to be served. When we arrived the pumps were all occupied so we pull up behind as anyone would, but with the amount of time we had to wait we were now inconve- niencing other vehicles. This is my “thumbs down’ part. A middle-aged woman came into the store barking “Who's green car is that?” The woman behind me said it was her car. The bitter woman responds, “you are so et you don’t do that, pull up all the way you expleti It was so i about the complete lack of respect of people these days to have a woman come in at the end of our conversation as if to validate our point of view. I left the store knowing that I should have spoken up and put this woman in her place, however, like many of us, I was just avoiding confrontation. One further thing I noticed as I was pulling away was seeing the boorish woman purchasing lottery tickets. I got a good laugh at that. How does one expect good fortune to come when they treat people so dis- gracefully? Like I said, I felt I should have spoken up and seeing how I may never see this woman again I just want her to know that not everyone is that ignorant. Ijust had to say my piece.
