Canada Day returns to Port Perry on Friday, July 1 and organizers are promising a big party for the nation’s 144th birthday. The traditional celebration, associated with Canada’s birthday, is organized by the Township of Scugog and this year will be an all-day and into the evening event, which will take place, rain or shine. Although still a month away, initial plans call for the closing down of Water St., from Queen to Mary from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and from Queen to Casi- mir from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dave Stewart, events and marketing director for the town- ship has been working hard with his staff to ensure a fun day of activi- ties for Scugog families, young and old.
