had to. | can think of a lot of people | wouldn’t give up but | can let go of things pretty easily. 8. The pet you most liked - My current dog, Hailey. She is a Yevebred Golden Retriever and is just the most gentle, well-behaved dog | have ever known. She hardly ever barks and she stays with me whether she’s on a leash or not. I’ve had 3 dogs in my life but none of the others hold a candle to her. 9.Your favourite singer, favou- rite song and favourite movie of all time? It is difficult for me to nar- row down any of these categories to just one. One of my favourite singers would likely be Eva Cassidy because she had such tremendous range in every respect. One of my favourite songs is Carlos del Junco’s cover of ‘Jitterbug Waltz’ by Fats Waller. It makes me feel like I’m dozing in a boat on the lake on a summer day. One of my favourite films is ‘Amélie’ directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. | tend to like very quirky films. 10.The most influential teacher or person when you were growing u| Ihad a teacher named Miss Parrish for Grades 5 and 6. She taught about things that she was interested in: the Group of Seven, Shakespeare, Elizabethan England, World Mythology. Her passion for these subjects was irresistible and we loved learning as a result. ||. Your favourite “sweet treat”? Cherry pie. | am not actually overly fond of very sweet or rich desserts and cherry pie has that nice tartness that saves it from being too sweet. | must say that most any type of pi works for me. Not enough restaurants serve fruit-based des- serts in my opinion. 12. Something you like to do with your family? ve always wanted to take a family vacation to a guest ranch. My kids may be getting a bit too old to be willing to join me on this one now. 13.Your most vivid memory of going to school? | remember in London that the snow would be so high in the winter that there would be giant mountains of it all along the sides of the streets and at the end of each driveway. My brothers and | used to travel along the top of these all the way to school and when we reached a driveway we would slide down one side and then take a running leap to jump our way up the other side. Now that | think of it, we can’t have been too. popular with the neighbourhood but it was fun at the time! 14, Favourite pastime when you are not working? When | am not involved in running around with other activi- ties and have a moment of leisure, | like reading (obviously) and playing games (either computer games or board games will do). 15.Your favourite sport to watch or play. Why? im not tremendously into sports but | do love swimming and | like watching almost any sport live because | like the atmo- sphere. The only thing | really watch on TV is the Olympics.
