The Port Perry BIA’s annual Celebration of Harvest, featuring the popular Chili Cook-off held last month, was an overwhelming success according to organizers. The perfect sunny fall weather attracted thousands of people to Port Perry's downtown for this popular fall tradition. Visitors strolled the street, enjoying tasty samples of chili from a variety of local establishments and organizations. By the end of the day, voting for the best chili recipe resulted in Vos Independent winning the “judges choice”, and Miguel's Mexican Restaurant the “people’s choice” award. In addition to this popular event, there was a pie eating contest, games for the kids, an art show at the lakefront, musical entertainment, pumpkin carving, pottery making, petting zoo and many other activities.
