Aquar This annual race, Seared by the Rotary Club of Port Perry, pits riders and teams, riding on ‘Sea-Doo’ styled watercraft, against the clock along Lake Scu- gog’s waterfront on Sunday, August 19. Aquarama has been entertaining both p and Spectators for the Past 18 years and this year is Look What’s New sure not to disappoint. In addition to raising money for a great cause, par- ticipants are awarded prizes for a variety of categories including fastest time, most unusual ride and most amusing costume. “Once again, we are calling on the community to get involved in this exciting summer event,” said Steve Gajewski, co-chair of Aquarama. “It’s the com- munity that makes this event such a huge success.” Last year the event raised $9,274 and to date Aquarama has raised over $170,000 for local and inter- national children’s charities. The Rotary Club hopes to build on that number this year. Riders can download registration and pledge forms online at www.aquarama.ca. Forms can also be picked up at Taylor Forder Insurance, behind the CIBC Bank. Registration takes place in Palmer Park beginning at 9:30 a.m., and the races begin at 11 a.m. sharp.
