Parents, pets, kids and nursery rhyme characters ready to show their stuff It’s hard to believe, but four years after the first “Church Chicks” Easter Bonnet Contest, enthusiasm for this exciting event continues to grow. Hundreds of participants are expected again this year, in front of the post office on Sunday, March 31, to show off their colourful, homemade Easter Bonnets. Organizers have fine tuned the categories and are looking forward to another smashing success. Stephanie Tennant, owner of Cake’s By Stephanie is the contest sponsor and Ken Koury of the Nutty Chocolatier donates large chocolate bunnies to the winner and runner-up in each category. Stephanie will be providing the gorgeous prize and participant ribbons, as well as a cupcake to each participant. Once again, the Church Chicks will be selling pre-made Easter hats starting at 11:30 a.m. Regis- tration starts at the same time. A ‘free will’ donation to the library will be available at the tent in front of RBC on Queen Street. Each year, a new storybook character is added, and “The ‘Mature’ Woman Who Lives ina Shoe” (Sharon Lauricella), will be joining the Chicks.
