Parents can enjoy watching their little ones hav- ing fun learning to blow bubbles, dive or master the back float, but the children cannot see the parents, to avoid distraction. Over the past 24 years, thousands of children have learned to swim thanks to the nurturing skills of owner Julie Goodwin and her staff. And this sum- mer, many lucky local children received free lessons through Julie’s generous donation of 12 spots each, offered to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham and Operation Scugog. “The families certainly appreciate Julie’s kindness and generosity towards the children of our commu- nity,” commented Margaret Ayres, Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director.
