With a 21 year goal of raising $1 million within sight, Elizabeth rallied volunteers and participants to bring in pledges of more than $41,000 and by doing so, slipping over her $1 million goal. Job well done Elizabeth! THUMBS UP - Scugog loses a 10 year veteran of council this year, with the retirement of Ward 1 councillor Larry Corrigan. Larry has served his ward admirably over a decade. A philosophical man, he brought thoughtful, although often lengthy, insight and wisdom to the table. Larry loved his job and in his words he says, “I will miss the political interface and friendships afforded me.” Only Larry could put it so succinctly. “Thumbs up” Larry. You have earned your retirement — enjoy your free time! She says, “municipalities north of us had them up in August and that is too long a time”. Agreed, now if they could just shorten the whole election process to about six weeks, similar to the provin- cial elections, we'd all be happier.
