Port Perry Scouts begin sales of Christmas trees Christmas is less than a month away, and 1st Port Perry Scouts Group have some beautiful, fresh trees waiting to fill that special spot in your home. The Scout’s Christmas tree sale season begins on Saturday, November 29 at the Port Perry Canadian Tire store, located just south of town at 14325 Simcoe St. The trees will be available until Christmas Eve, or until they run out, so don’t delay. There are a limited number of trees brought in each year, but they bring in only top quality trees. ‘Tree prices have been kept the same as last year and range from: Apt. size: $20 ° Spruce: $30 ¢ Balsam Fir: $40 © Fraser Fir: $40. Hours of operation: Monday — Friday 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p-m., Saturday & Sunday —9 a.m. - 6 p.m. e pi from last year’s sales contributed to a number of activities. One highlight was the group camp attended by all sections. Youth aged 5 to 17 spent the weekend together at Camp Samac and enjoyed camp- fires and activities. The Beaver colony held a “Beaver Olympics” celebra- tion and in addition, funding from the sale of Christmas trees made it possible for the Beaver colonies to visit the Peterborough Canoe museum. This does not happen without the investment of time from the parents, guardians and relatives of the youth. They voluntarily run the tree lot in whatever the weather has to offer and always with a scouting smile for every customer.
