Mulock, Well-known Son of Chief Justice, Called By Death Toronto, Dee, 17.~William Mu- lock, K.C,, . wellsknown Toronto lawyer, died suddenly last night at his residence, 8 Cluny Drive. He was the eldest son of Chief Justice Sir William Miilock, Mr. Muloek had heen in poor health for a year or more, but the end came unexpectedly, He suf- tered a stroke Saturday nght and failing to rally, died Sunday, Mr, Mulock was popular in leg- al circles and was a familiar tiguro at Osgoode Hall, as a consulting counsel. He was a well-known lov- er of fe turf and an ardent fish- erman and golfer, For over thirty years Mr, Mulock headed the law firm of Mulock, Milliken, Clark and Redman one of the leading legal firms én the city. He was a director of thw. Canada Permanent Trust Com- pany and the Canada Permanent Mortgrge Company Salt Company of Windsor, Mr. Mulock never played an acs tive part in politics, though he ap- peared as a speaker in several cam- paigns and was a vice-president of the Toronto Reform Association. He was pressed many times to run as a candidate in the Liberal inter- ests, but his ambitions did not run along political lines. In the las. provincial election he came out for Premier Ferguson and government control of liquor. He was born in Toronto on May 31, 1871, the son of Sir William and Sarah Ellen Cawthra Mulock, educated at Upper Canada Col- lege and Osgoode Hall, and pactis- ' ed his profession in Toronto from the time he was graduated. He was articled to Lount and Marsh and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1894. In 1894 Mr. Mulock married Ethel Pate daughter of William J. Pate, Leghorn, Italy and Queb-c. | He bad one son, W.
