Various suggestions are made from massages to eating greens. But real beauty is something far dif- { ferent from that. It does not lie in, i complexion or fine features, red- | dened lips or dark eycbrows. It shines through from the soul, from { the intelligence, from qualities of; | heart and mind; and if these be) | supplemented by a radiant health and vitality, then all the better. PROHIBITION GIVEY PRESIDENT-ELECT CAUSE FOR WORRY 'Washington, Jan. 21.--Prohibi- tion, which Candidate Hoover be- lieved did not qualify as a politi cal issue and which Hoover is findng to be one of the his great- est worries, is growing into a storm that threatens to break its fury on the President-elect, With drys divided among them- selves, wets pressing their advant- age through stinging publicity and Secretary Mellon, the bulwark of the over-lapping administration, hopelessly enmeshed at the centre of the controversy, Mr, Hoover is meeting new prohibition worries at every turn, After a telegram yesterday from Bishop James Cannon, Jr.,, ex- pressing doubt over Secretary Mel- lon's desire to enforce the law which indicated a wider split in dry ranks, the Board of Temper- ance, Prohibition and Public Mor- als of the Methodist Episcopal Church today repeated its backing of Mr, Mellon for not accepting $25,000,000 offered for additional prohibition enforcement, Dr, F, Scott McBride, secretary of the league, has endorsed Secre- tary Mellon's stand, differing with Bishop Thomas Nicholson, presi- dent of that organization, The Cannon announcement shows a dif- ference of opinion between leaders of the Methodist Church and the Methodist Episcopal Church south, "We do not believe that the $25,000,000 can be wisely used by the prohibition unit at the present time," says a statement from the Methodist Board of Temperance, Prohibition and Public Morals after praising 'the sincerity" of Congress in making the suggestion to Secretary Mellon, It adds, how- ever, that 'several million dollars, at least, could be used in educa- tional and investigation activities."
