FLEET OF SERVICE TRUCKS OPERATED BY MILLER & LIBBY LTD. N THE year 1913 a property on Celina Street near the corner of Athol, known as the J. O. Guy homestead, was purchased by Mr. George Lander. In 1914 a build- ing was erected and a slumbing business founded, known as Lander's Plumbing Business. The business grew very rapidly and in February, 1919, Martin Libby and Murray Miller purchased the business from Mr. Lander and oherated} it from that date under the name of Miller & Libby, plumbers and steam fitters. The business under this management continued to expand and prosper as is shown by their labour statement: 1919, 1 Employee; 1923, 12 Employees; 1929, 26 Employees During the past year as many as forty-two men have been employed, at one time, by this firm. proving that the firm's growth has been an outstanding one. Truly, there must be a reason when a business, during these days of keen competition and severe business reactions, grows to such proportions. However, the Miller & Libby partnership lays all credit to their policy which has always been fair prices, square deals and good service. "The success of the business" says Mr. Miller "Is attributed wholly to our everlasting effort to live up to this policy. Today, another milestone is reached and the Miller & Libby partnership passes, with Miller & Libby, Limited, taking its place. This is just another piece of evidence which proves that their policy must have been a right one. The new company wish to make it clear that it will be their ambition to carry on the splendid ideals that were characteristic of the firm of Miller & Libby. : Plans are now under way for a large expansion program proving in the first instance, their faith in Oshawa, 'and secondly, their faith in the belief that the public in general appreciate a square deal, fair prices and good service.
