Montreal, Jan, 22--Archbishop's Cathedral of Montreal has the unique distinction in Montreal of being the adopted parish church of most of the Catholic tourists who visit the. metropolis during the year. According to, Canon Valois, Chancellor of the Montreaf diocese, the attendance at the last three masses on Sunday, particularly in summer, is made up 'mostly of visitors from every part of Amer- ica, touring the province. There are approximately 2500 parishioners attached to the basi- lica, according to figures given by Canon Valois, and® the church easily contains two thousands seated. At the three early masscs on Sundays the attendance is meagre, but from the 9 o'clock mass, the church is almost filled, so that it can be sald from 6000 to the parish. to 7000 people hoar mass every Sunday there. Of these, approxi- mately 75 per cent, are strangers.
