: 3 'The PAGE EIGH1 \ THE OSHAWA DAILY TIMES, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 1930 Ea -- Boy Scout A News of what the Boy Scouts of Oshawa are doing contributed by the scout lead: ers. Contributions to this column will be welcomed, and should be sent to the Times office not later than Tuesday morning each Last week we had occasion to nention the matter of doing good turns, and the position which the Chief Scout gives to this part of the duty of a Scout as a medium for character training, This week we would like to make a few more remarks with regard to the matter of being Scouts in the true sense of the sword, seven days in each week ana not only on meeting nights, Nothing is more casy to forget or at least temporarily overlook than the Scout Laws and Oath which every Scout subscribes to when lie becomes a Tenderfoot. The true gauge of a Scout is his behaviour when nobody else 13 looking at him If each Scout in Oshawa does a | good turn each day there will be over two hundred done, or taking the total for the year there will be more than seventy-three thousand extra rays of sunshine spreaa throughout the City. and that means quite a considerable amount of light. Likewise if every boy lives up to | the ten Saout Laws the benefit of the Scout training could not help but be felt in the community, SARGON We are sole authorized agents for Sargon in OSHAWA RARN"S DRUG STORE Next Post Office, Phone 378. Not everybody has either the talent or the opportunity to take an actual part on the stage, but there are many little jobs in con- nection with the staging of a con- cert which are just as important. and add as much to the eventual guccess of 'the entertainment as the more flashy jobs which are really ¢ not any more important even fit they do bring a little more per- sonal glory If you have a job however low- effort that you ean put .into fit, even if it is only holding up the stage. : The Third Troop went on a to- bogganing party ou Friday last We hope that they enjoyed their outing and.that it was frec from accidents.
