Mitchell in his address of welcome to the Skinner Company officials, yes- terday, said: "It affords me great pleasure to welcome the Skinner Co. Ltd, to Oshawa. I am confi- dent that they will find that their (decision to locate. in this city was a wise one, Oshawa is first, last and always an industrial com- munity and its citizens are pre- pared at all times to co-operate with the manufacturers." The coming of the Skinner Co. had not cost the city one Cent, he declared, and in this regard he thought that it was indeed fortunate. He assured the officials of the Skin- ner Co. that Oshawa was keenly interested in its welfare and fu- ture progress. Conant, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, in wel- coming the Skinner Company of- ficials to Oshawa yesterday. "It is the first time that a strong new industry, has established it- self in Oshawa. All our other in- dustries have been indigenous to the city's growth and have ex- panded to their present size and importance from comparatively small buildings, We trust and hope that the products of the Skinner Co, will find a market throughout the world and that upon them may be stamped the legend 'Made in Oshawa,' a leg- end which today is regarded as desoting true worth." Mr. Conant paid tribute to the energy and ability of the Skinner Co. in building up a great and growing business.
