It contains some in- teresting material on telephone de- velopment in Ontario and Quebec. There were 227,828 telephones connected in 1929 and 180,617 dis- connected making a net gain of telephones in service of 47,211 as compared with 45,862 in 1928. Over 67 per cent of all telephones are in homes, There are 833 other telephone systems in Ontario and Quebec whose lines connect with the Bell System for interchange of com- munication and these companies serve 140,038 'additional telephon- es. Gross revenue showed an in- crease of $3,725,299 during the year ust closed and expenses also increased by $3,191,953.
