TO BUILD BIG UNIT Advance Program a Year to Give Employment in London, Ont, London, Ont, Nov. 6--The Kellogg Company of Canada will build a new 0: r plant to cost in the neighbor- ood of $150, Work will be start- ed this fall. .\nnouncement was made to this effect to day by Eugene H. McKay, of Battle Creek, Mich, di- rector of the company, who was sent to London by L. H. Brown, president of the parent company to make a survey of the London plant, Mr. McKay was accompanied to London by engineers and architects of the Albert Kahn Company, of Detroit, who assisted him in the survey from a technical standpoint, The new power plant will be large enough to take care of future devel- opments of the company. It will be built south of the present Dundas street plant and will face on King street, so as to give room for new factory additions, which the company anticipate making in London, The power plant will be the most modern of its kind that can be constructed There will also be new and modern coal shutes to handle the fuel; new sidings will also have to be built, "It was not the original intention," | said Mr, McKay today, "to erect this power plant until next year, but Mr, Kellogg has felt very strongly that the company should do all. it could to assist unemployment situation in the present crisis, As a result, some of our building 'projects in Battle Creek have been advanced and we are following the same policy in Lon don," J. McKinley, the local manager, has been urging the company to start work this fall on some of the com- pany's building programs and has been placing the needs of the London plant before the directors SCHOOL BOARD BROKE, TEACHERS UNPAID Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Nov, f.-- The technical school board finds it- self unable to pay its accounts and its salaries for December, owing to the fact that in building the addi- tion to the school there was an over- expenditure of $2,142 on capital building and $2,805 for equipment, which were taken from maintenance account, The board will be $6,000 short at the end of the year, but this may be reduced to $4,000 by the Government grant, The board has engaged a chartered account- ant to make a report on its financial affairs.
