This defeat of the Silverwoods, not only broke thelr winning streak at a total of four victories, but threw their chances of stay. ing on top of the league standing ta the winds, On the night's play, the Pats were worthy winners \vart from the fact that the locals did not play thelr usual combina- 'tion, with the possible exception of n few brilliant spurts in the sec ond and third periods, the hockey was fast and interesting 'to watch, Both teams failed to make the moet of their chances when penal- tien decreased and defensive str mgth of their opponents, The Slverwoods travel to Osh awa on Monday for thely return game with the Pats and will be out to avenge themselves for their poor showing last night, With the Oshawa team apparently at the top of its form, Monday's game should be another interesting bats tle The Hne-upsa: Oshawa---Gqal, aught; defence, Davey and Green; centre, Lott; wings, Ullmore and Mcllwaine; sith, Colguhoun, Joyce, Stanhope and MeMillan, Kitchener «Coal, Clark; fense, Llekley and Allaire; centre, Heller; wings, Baetz and Osborne; sibs, Hamel, Schnarr and Barnes, Reforeo--Sandy Little, Guelph, de- D.B. In the final, however, it met with defeat at the hands of the rink from Dare rie 'skipped by 8. Meredith by a score of 13 to 8. The final game for the trophy was an interesting one, but was never in dougt after the fifth end. In the first end. Meredith secured a lead of three shots, but Carlyle ev ened this up in the second.
