Robinson, pondent) Thornton's Corners, June 17.-- A number of pupils of the school finished on Friday for the holidays, so the closing school treat was held Friday afternoon when all enjoyed an' hour's goed time and lots of ice cream. Mrs. George Pierson and Mrs. W. L. Piersop were in Toronto cu Friday to attend the graduat- ing exercises at the University. There will bg no Sunday School services next Sunday, June 21, as it is the annual Decoration 'Day for the various Lodges. (Mrs. G. Corres- perance convention at Orono, June 18th. Also to order gems from Vic- tor Home to fill with fruit. The W.M.S, invited the C.G.LT. group to hear Mrs. Adams of Bowmanville speak on The Gardens of life. Each one has a garden to plant and bring forth fruit, It was a very inspiring address. Miss Helen Argue of Bow- manville sang sweetly "The Beauti- ful Garden of Prayer." Mrs. Dan- iels accompanied her on the piano. Mrs. Dr. Slemon was also present to add a few words, Mts. Ashton gave a reading "I have an engage- ment." After the closing hymn and benediction lunch was served by Mrs. L. Lamb's group, when a social time was spent. Thirty two were present. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley "May visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. The Busy Bees Sunday School Class held their monthly meeting at the home of the teacher, Mrs. Blake DeHart.
