It is mow oveN ' twenty years since George Allchin mude his first venture in the "business world, and since that time he has moved steadily for- ward until today he heads an es- tablishment of which he may well be proud, and which promises to grow and develop in the future just as it has done in the past. Away back in 1910, George All- chim opened a general garage business in 'Bowmanville, and it progressed so favorably that in 1914 he opened a branch garage fn what was then the thriving town of Oshawa. The opening of thig Oshaws branch was a begin- ring of his interests in this city, and how they have grown is #hown by the snlendid new pre- miges now occupied by the com- ranv hearing his name. Early this year came the de- cision to make another move, and to branch out more definitely in- to the retail field. The firm of George Alichin, Limited, was or- ganized, and purchased the for- mer premises of the Bank of Montreal. This former bank twilding has now been trans- formed into the modern ani at- tractive store which occupi2s the southwest corner of Simcos and Bond streets, Here, as is ex- piained in this special section de- voted to the interests of the com- pany, Mr. Alichin and his associ- ates are developing a larga busi- ness in radio sales and service, snd as agents for electrical re- frigerators, electric and gas stoves, Neon signs, and all the wany types of electrical producti manufactured by the Canadian Ceneral Electric Company. With this extension of the re- tajl field made possible by the opening of the new store, great- er stress than ever is being laid on the service department. The Allchin Company has always been noted for this department, and gives service for all makés of radio sets, having the best equip- ped radio service department ia Canada. This gives some. idea of the aim which is behind the All- chin Company in all its opera- tions, and which has been re- sponsible for its development from that small garage in Bew- manville twenty-one years ago to the splendid business of waich George Allchin is today the head.
