WOODRUFF, Chairman of Race Committee and Director S.0.A.S. BABY SHOW No feature cf the Oshawa Fair is of more interest than the Baby Show. It is more than twenty years since this event was added to the prize list. At its beginning mothers did not bring their babies as they do today and to have ten entries meant a full time job for the doctor in charge. A"group gather- ed in front of the building used for needle work and art, where no' accommodation was made for babies or mothers as they awaited their turn. When you attend the Baby Show in Sept. 17, you will agree that this feature proved itself worth while for the entries are many times that of early years, Thursday, Sept. 17, and a large tent with splendid accommodation for both babies and mothers is provided, with com- petent nurses in charge. There are three classes under which babies may compete and prize money to the extent of $42.00 is set aside for this event. And the babies will be there. Babies short and babies small, Blue-eyed babies, babies fair, Brown-eyed babies--they'll all be there, MRS. N. WHITE, Director. FINANCE I am indeed glad to pass along a brief to the Public in general re the so nancial structure on which the South Ontario | ricultural Society 1931 Fair is built, The never was in a better position financially than is today, The prospects for a record tendance and net profit were never better, due regard to the rather unsettled condition ¢ business during the past year and the. unemploy- ment problem which has been a rather serious item, I say here and now that the 1931 Fair has all the ear marks of a bumper year. Every reports splendid progress with many new ments and an optimistic spirit is evident pa where in our association, CARS ADMITTED TO g THE GROUNDS USUAL ADMISSION Oshawa Park South Ontario bition will truly be ¢ tural Society 1931 Exbic ger and Better."
