Next week is known to everybody as the week of the fair, Tuesday will be devoted to the reception of exhibits, Wednesday the big expos- ition opens its gates to the public. For two days thousands will be flocking into Oshawa. Some will come in big sedans, some in power- ful touring cars, some in shaking, wheezing, rattling flivvers, others in buggies and still other in lumbering wagons. It doesn't matter much how they come but the fact to be remembered is that they will all ar- rive at the fair grounds in Alexan- dra Park. hy Horses are Here Horse racing is again to be one of the big features at the fair this year and a number of racing men have already brought their horses here to prepare for the trials of speed which will be witnessed on the big track. Trotters and pacers may even now be seen exercising on the track, while a number of spec- tators group along the fence to watch their performance and time then as they flash around the oval. There is no doubt that this year's Oshawa Fair will be the best in the history of the South Ontario Agri- cultural Society. And if the public appreciates a good show it will break all previous attendance re- cords. One of the outstanding features of the fair this year will be the Motor Show, which will be of much more substantial proportions than ever before. Assurance has been received that the leading Canadian manufacturers of automobiles will have their latest models on display, and the General Motors exhibit, which will include everything from Cadillac to Chevrolet, will show to the public the complete line of Gen- erals Motors cars. There will also be a splendid exhibit of Willys- Overland models, while the various Durant lines will also bé shown, as well as other makes of cars, The automobile manufacturers are tak- ing advantage of the opportunity afforded by the Fair to arouse in- terest in the wonderful car values which are now being offered, and are making their exhibits this year as attractive as possible, Charles P. Davis, secretary of the fair, is the busiest man in Oshawa at the present time, and he is con- fident that, with favorable weather, the 1931 Oshawa Fair, with its re- vival of horse racing, its outstand- ing entertainment features, and its wide range of exhibits, will leave all former fairs far behind, and will be a complete sucecss. sa I Moffatt Motor Sales 88 Simcoe St. N.
