Cook, Correspondent) Columbus, Oct. 20.--The Harvest Home, and Thanksgiving services were held in the United Church on Sunday, Oct. 11. The Rev. W. P. Rogers, B.A, of Newcastle, the | preacher of the day, delivered two excellent and able discourses and was listened to by large congrega- tions. On Friday, evening 16th, the annual Chicken Supper took place and although the weather was not very good, there was the usual large attendance. After the bountiful sup- per served by the ladies of the con- gregation, a splefidid program under the direction of Miss Bell of Osh- awa, was presented the pastor, Rev Dr. Cooper, acting as chairman, There were solos by Mr, Hainer, character songs by A. Herming, readings by Clara Belle Hare, (Newcastle) and Helen Foster, and selections by the General Motors Quartette. All the numbers were thoroughly enjoyed.
