Horn, Correspondent) Hampton, Dec. 26. --The Christmas concert, given by the school] children, on Wednesday night, was a splendid success. Those who devoted time, pat)- ence, thought and energy in pre- paring for such an interesting evening's program, were greatly rewarded, the number through- out the program giving evidence of efficiency in that ling of work. The program opened with a hymn and prayer by Rev. J. R. Bick, who was chairman for the evening. The opening chorus by the school '""Hedfts of Oak', was followed by a short address by the chairman, Recitation by Dor- othy Holwell. Tick Tack song by ten little boys. Recitation, Mad- lyn Wilcox. Chorus by seniors. Recitation by four little girls, "Do you folks all know it's Christmas", Bang song by five little tots. Recitation by Betty Rogers. Somg by five Johns sis- 'ers. Every number was well given and loudly applauded, while the Fan Drill and Burlesque, de- served special mention as well as the doll drill. The green and red festoonings, and background of red and green with artificial poisettas, and Christmas bells, made a fitting background for the various cos- tumes worn by the children. Santa Claus arrived at the con- clusion of the program and was assisted by several young men to distribute the numerous presents from the well loaded Christmas tree, Misses G. Cawker and N. Horn, were accompanirts for the musical numbers, who with Mr. F. J. Groat and Miss M. Peters |d were the committee in charge of the program presented.
