Moved by Councillor Delanty and seconded by Councillor Madame Delaney, a resolution read as fol- "That this council desires to re- gister, on behalf of the citizens of this most ideally situated town, its disappointment with the attitude poth of the government and the Federal representative of this rid- ing in totally disregarding Cobourg in every war work. No contracts have been awarded here and no government plants have been lo- cated here. In fact, this town has been entirely overlooked, while other places are receiving help. "No town of this size in the Do- minion has sent more men and given more liberally to the war ef- fort, and this council can only ex- press its outright disgust at the treatment it is receiving." COUNCIL SEEKS FULL CONTROL (AS AND WATER Would Conduct Depart-| ments Previously Admin- istered by P.U.C. Belleville, Oct. 30 -- Voters of Belleville, when they go to the polls in December will have several con- tentious questions facing them be- sides the choice of a representative aldermanic council and chief mag- istrate. Latest of the questions to be placed before the electors is that brought forward last night by Council regarding the matter of taking control of the city water works department and gas depart- ment from the Public Utilities Commission and returning it to City Council.
