KENNETH FLETCHER Correspondent Harmony, May 20--A very happy birthday party was held at the home of Mrs. Gordon Bunker last Saturday, May 17, when six nieces, Eileen (Mrs. Sid Baldwin), Doreen (Mrs, Kenneth Williams), Betty (Miss Betty Greentree), Wilma (Mrs, Douglas Burley), Lorraine (Mrs, Ivan Morrison), and Margar- et (Mrs. Jack Stacey), were in- vited to tea, following a custom of several years' standing. Mrs. Mercy Greentree, Mrs. Bun- ker's mother, was also a tea guest, and joined with her grandchildren in making the occasion a very pleasant one. A lovely cup and saucer was pre- sented to Mrs. Bunker, whose birth- day it was, from her "nieces", with best wishes for many more happy birthdays to come. Later in the evening, a kitchen shower from .the family was given to Betty, daughter of Mrs. Naura Greentree, who is to be married next month. Some lovely gifts were received including red and white enamelware, Pyrex, basket of groc- eries; towels, etc. The house was decorated through- out with bouquets of daffodils and forsythia. A very pleasant family party was enjoyed by all. An open meeting will be held in the school Thursday night for all girls interested in joining the pro- posed C.G.I.T. group as well as for any who might be willing to serve as leaders. 11 Christened Eleven children were christened at Harmony Sunday School last Sunday afternoon, when the Rev. J. Verner McNeely, King Street Church, officiated and in his ad- dress emphasized there must be a "oneness" to work together success- fully in homes. Solos were sung by Mrs, Everett Pipher, Thornton's Corners, accom- panied at the. piano by Mrs. Clar- ence Cox. The Junior Primary children sang "Be Careful". ay ing was taken by Bruce Martin, Robert Whattam and Frank Shet- ler. The auditorium was decorated with bouquets of carnations and potted plants. PLEASE DON'T PHONE. Auto Stolen In Oshawa Is Found HELEN DAVIDSON Correspondent Zion, May 20.--On Friday evening of last week Albert Hircock's car was stolen from where it was parked in Oshawa. The car was found on Saturday afternoon with- out any of the belongings missing. The only damage done was short- age of gds and oil. Don't forget the opening game of the football season between Zion and Solina on Wednesday of this week at Zion football field. There will be no church or Sun- day school next Sunday owing to it being Eldad's anniversary services. Everyone is welcome at the com- munity get-together on Friday night of this week at Zion Pullic School. Seeding is now well underway and 'many of the farmers have their early potatoes in.
