The season's second section opened | po! at the Motor City Alleys on Tuesday night with all teams acquiring points except Perry's Pets who were bowling shorthanded. Rolling a total of 3036 pins the Hot Sparks took four points to head the ack in. the standing. Headliners, Bul- etins, Scoops and Red Cats captured three points each and are all tied up for second place. Pin Pickers, Dem Bums, Pi Boxes and Johnnies garnered in a point apiece to make a four-way tle for third place. Next week's com- Pesision will likely see many of these les broken. A new season's triple for gents was established when Hadley Quick of the Headliners rolled up a total of 803, just one pin short of the highest score to date, set by Esme Williams (804). Topping the list in sing! ladies was Jean Southworth with 221. Incidentally Jean, a comparatively new bowler, is making tremendous strides dnd is beginning to give keen competi- tion to even the best in the league. Phyllis Baxter took top triple for the night in the ladies' section with 584. Among the gents, Bob Johnston came up with a splendid 341 to carry off honors for the high single.
