Two Oshawa Reserve Force units --the 11th Armoured Regiment and the 19th Armoured Workshop RCEME are to send groups to this year's summer camp at Petawawa. Training will get under way on July 4 at Petawa- wa, Picton and Barriefield, and will be the most extensive seen in ntario since the war years. Largest of the three camps will be at Petawawa, where prepara- tions have been made to train over 4,000 men, representing some one hundred units, between July 4 and August I4» All reserve Force units from Ontarle's Central Command, with the exception of anti-aircraft and signals, will train at this camp, while Quebec and Eastern Com- mans will be represented by units of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, Royal Canadian Engineers, and field, medium, and anti-tank artillery regiments, All units are scheduled to train for a one-week period, with all camp activities be- ing directed by Major-General C. Vokes, C.B.,, O.B.E, D.S.O., assisted by members of the Central Com- mand staff. Five training wings will be in operation and will pro- vide instruction in armoured, artil- lery, engineer, infantry and gener- el military training subjects. Ar- rangements have also been made to run promotion, qualification, and trade training examinations during the period of the camp. Anti-Aircraft and signals regi- ments 'of all of the army's three most easetrly commands will train at Picton and Barriefield respec tively commencing July 4, The army's most modern equip- ment will be made available at all . three camps as will the latest in training aids. The recount was requested by Pro- gressive Conservative candidate James deC. Hepburn, speaker of the last legislature. Mr, Hepburn was defeated by the Liberal candidate, Donald Fletcher, by 51 votes.
