The Social Credit government, seeking its fourth straight term, has a candidate in the field for every one of the legislature's 57 » | seats. The Alberta C.C.F. has 51 and the revived Liberal party 49. There are 450,000 persons eligible to vote. Attorney General Lucien May- nard sald in a broadcast that C.C.F. canvassers were telling any Social Credit supporters they came across "that as long as he is satisfied there is no necessity to vote." He urged all citizens to vote, sug- gesting that laxity among Social Credit supporters might weaken the government party's Standing in the next legislature, Owen D. Browne, public relations director for the Liberals, said "per= sons who even think of voting So- cial Credit as the lesser of two evils are playing right into the hands of the Socialists."
