This tour is available to every carrier who enrolls for /this circulation effort . . . there is no limit to the number that may secure the trip . . . all that is needed is 16 "starts" per carrier. 1.--The contest is open only to authorized carriers of The Daily Times-Gazette. 2~Each carrier submitting sixteen signed start orders is eligible for the three-day trip to Ottawa, all expenses paid. 3.--Carriers may secure start orders on and after September 13, 1948. Contest closes at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 1948. 4.--Only new subscribers will be counted in determining a carrier's standing. For this purpose a "new subscriber" is anyone who orders the paper and has not been re- celving The Daily Times-Gazette regularly by cartier since September 1, 1948. 5.--~Carrierg may secure new subscribers any- where ®nd obtain credit in this contest. However, papers may be delivered by carriers only in their own territory. 6.--Where there is more than one carrier on a route only one may take the Ottawa regen trip for sixteen starts. Two carriers may go for 32 starts, etc. 7.~Carriers must turn in the special pink start orders, properly signed by the new subscriber, in order to secure . credit during this contest. 8.--All start orders must be for a period of at least three months. When taking new starts carriers should point this out to the subscribers. 9.--All starts will be checked by the Circula- tion Department staff. The Daily Times- Gazette reserves the right to disallow credit for any starts that do nottconform to the rules of the contest. 10.--For each start in excess of sixteen, carriers will be allowed 75 'cents for spending money on the trip. 11.--All carriers submittin starts will not be eligib! less jhan sixteen or the trip but will be paid 50 cents in cash for each start submitted. 12.--All start orders submitted during the contest will be counted for the contest only and will not be included. again when determining the regular bonus of the carrier at the end of the mext three- month period. . 13.--Carrigrs agree to follow the instructions + of the supervisors while on the trip. 14.--Each carrier eligible for the Ottawa trip will secure and train a substitute to deliver his route while he is away. 15.--~In case of dispute, the decision of the contest judges appointed by The Daily Times-Gazette will be final. 16.--To be eligible for the Ottawa wi a car« rier must have his account with The Daily Times-Gazette paid in full up to date.
