This has been the established custom here for close on to 75 years. The church shed was most elaborately decorated by the senior girls of the Sunday School. A congregation of at least 450 people assembled for the services. A large choir of 100 voices under the leadership of Mrs. R. M. Sey- mour provided fine numbers of music. During the service the ladies' Quartette of Trinity Church, Bowmanville," sang two inspiring attractive numbers. Rev. Harry Mellon, B.A., of Norhminster Church, Oshawa, delivered two very splendid addresses in both the afternoon and evening services. In the evening Trinity Quartette again favored us with two most approp- riate 'numbers, Pianists for the services were Joyce McGill and Mona Brunt. All the church and community hall chairs were need- ed to accomodate the attendance. The minister, Rev. R. M. Sey- mour in presenting the announce- ments, made special mention of TUC Boys Club who had raised sufficient funds to purchase the new bulletin board at a cost of $35 and it was erected through the kindness of Art Leadbeater. Mr. Howard Pye, the efficient caretaker, has spent considerable time, energy and money to make the grounds beautiful. The flower bed at the front of the church was well planted by Mr. K. Svanefelt. The orders of service for both serv- ices were a donation from Miss Margaret Seymour, Kingston, Ont. On Monday the day was spent in sports and the Enniskillen vs. Zion football games in the public school grounds. The church shed has not been so well filled for any engagement as it was on Monday night. It is estimated by those who ought to know that there were at least 600 present to enjoy the entertainment. The oper- etta was exceptionally well done having about 30 actors in the pro- duction. It is worth while to noie that all the costumes except of course the dress suits of the men were made by the actors them- selves. The financial aspect of the an- niversary is most gratifying, $137 were received on the offering plate on Sunday and over $500 being realized from the door receipts on Monday. Much appreciation is due the individuals and*® committees and visitors in helping to have this most outstanding anniversary in Enniskillen, The gilded coach used by the monarch in British coronations was built nearly 200 years ago for George III. Jolliffe, Ontario CCF leader, Monday night urged the rewriting of all the province's municipal legislation. Speaking over a CBC Ontario net- work in a series of free-time poli- tical broadcasts, he said local gov- ernment in Ontario is breaking ' down. He said it has neither the money nor the power to cope with the burdens thrust u it by the growth and industrialization of On- tario. _ "This problem is tremendous and it's getting more serious every day... "It will be solved only when all our municipal legislation is re- written and brought into line with present-day realities and when the work to be done and the moneys to be raised are divided fairly be- tween Queen's Park and local gov- ernment."
