Firms Seek ~ Seaway Work LONDON (CP)--Eight of Brit- ain's biggest contracting and en- gineering firms have joined forces to bid on the St. Lawrence seaway project, it was learned today. Sir Albert Braithwaite, Conserv- ative member of Parliament and chairman of a British organization known as the seaway group, said he expects the combine to get £2.000,000 worth of orders. He added: _ "This is our last chance to invest in Canada. We missed the Alberta oil and the Labrador ore fields. "Canada is our best prospect for engineering exports and the sea "ay should fake £2.000,000 off our bread bill, due to lower freight charges in the wheat we buy from Canada."
