Mrs. David Pugh read the scripture passage and led in prayer. Mrs. Ev. Pipher intro- duced the soloist Mrs. De- laney who sang '"'With Christ as my Pilot" accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Scott. Mrs. Bunker read a "Recipe for a Happy New Year." Mrs. Pipher read a poem "Th World is Mine." Mrs. Pipher thank- ed the soloist. Mrs. Bunker and her committee served tea and cookies. He ordered the provincial sec- tary to issue authorization under ¢ e Marriage Act to allow Heinz Schepull and Eva Bekeschus, re- cent German immigrants to Can- ada, to get a licence at Toronto. The couple had applied for a li- cence to marry but were refused because the bride-to-be is the sis- ter of the m's divorced wife. The couple then applied for a man- damus to compel the provincial secretary to authorize issuance of a 'licence. Miss .Bekeschus came to Canada in June, 1952, and Mr. Schepull in August, 1953. Both were born in Germany. Mr. Schepull was di- vorced from Miss Bekeschu's sister in Germany June 7, 1953.
