"A' Family Tradition for 125 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, March 31, 1992 - 27 Van Camp defeats Port Perry Printing in Novice h.l. final March 25 is a day the Van Camp squad will remember for a long time, as they won the Novice Championship 4-1 against Port Perry Printing. Both teams came out skating like fire on ice, the goaltenders Van Camp's Ryan Woods and Port Perry Printing's Shane Fisher covering every inch of their nets. The first period started out with the slick Ian Garnett scooping a pass from Joel Thom- son to score the first goal. With great defensive plays by Ash- leigh Murphy, Joel Thomson, Mike Dalby and Eric Bird they held their end tight till the end of the second period when Port Perry Printing's Matt MacMas- ter sent a nice pass to Ryan Has- lam who put the puck past a sprawling Ryan Woods. Twenty seconds into the third period the determined Mike Dalby connected a pass from Ian Garnett and scored to break the tie for Van Camp. Both teams played outstand- ing hockey and gave their per- sonal best. With gloves flying and cheers roaring the excited Van Camp team surrounded goalie Ryan Woods. After the traditional hand shake, the mighty Nick Bronson skated the trophy around the rink followed by his teammates.
