"A Family Tradition for 125 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, April 14, 1992 - 29 MoJack's record first win of series From Page 27 Vernon raced into the Siskins' zone, dug the puck out of the corner and fed a perfect pass to Erickson, who was charging to- ward the net, and beat Crotty high in the twine. And with only 21 seconds re- maining to play in the second eriod, McIntyre scooped up a oose puck and fired it at the goal, beating Crotty between the legs, for his second score of the night. Menzies picked up the assist. | Role Change Down by three goals as the ~ third period began, it was the Siskins' turn to become frus- trated by their inability to light Scott Erickson Put in strong game Sunday to, help the MoJacks stay alive. up the red light behind Marc Dekkerin the MoJacks' cage. Dekker rose to the occasion when called upon, making sev- eral super saves, and for the first half of the period Port Perry seemed content to just protect the lead. But on yet another power- play opportunity, Paul Wilkins, assisted by McIntyre, gave Port Perry a four-goal cushion at the 10:17 mark. During the final few minutes of the game, the Siskins were obviously upset that their playoff win streak would end at 15. Tempers flared, resulting in several fighting majors and au- tomatic misconducts. This time, however, it was the Stayner players who were the aggres- sors, but it appeared they lost this part of the game too. With only a minute and 46 seconds left in the third period, Pete Verbeek was credited with a goal --- a shot which Dekker managed to get a piece of, but the puck trickled over the line. Game Three In Stayner's 8-2 win last Fri- day, Thomas Brown, Sebastien Bronsard and Scott Pendleton had a pair of goals each for the Siskins, with single markers by Lou Bellwood and Bill Gourley. Mark McKay and Scott Erickson scored for the Mo- Jacks. Back To Stayner Game five of this series will be played this Saturday nightin Stayner.
