Adam Pea- cock, Justin Moffat and Timo- thy Motuzas were all strong on offense, with Justin and Timo- thy picking up two goals a piece. Timothy scored the winning goal on a penalty kick. Melissa Mulder and Jason Wanamaker played superb de- fensive ball. Brady Gray in net had to make many more stops to preserve the win. Haugen's team played a good strong game with two goals being scored by Peter Konstantinopoulos, and one by Lindsay Carr. Darlene Colton Photography was successful in its bid against Manvers 1, 4-0. Stacey Cun- ningham led the way with a hat trick, and Julie-Ann Domik evened out the scoring with one as well. Timothy Donohue was strong on offense, and assisted on two of the goals. Marta Van- Camp picked up an assist as well. John Dutka made it tough for Manvers with good defense, and James Colton got the shut- out. Adam and Zach Plowright shared the netminding duties for Manvers, and stopped many more than they let in. Zach Goff looked dangerous on offense, and Derek Shasta played solid defense. Flieler's Petro Can also shut- out I.G.A. by a 6-0 score. Pat Lewis, Chris Wygerde, Joseph Kozlinsky and Ryan O'Leary all scored, and Liam McKeracher had two goals. Despite the loss, 1.G.A. putin a great effort. Good goaltending by Sandy Farqu- harson shut down the opposi- tion in the second half. Nice po- sition playing by Erin Edwards allowed her to turn the ball around several times, and Bos- ton Kowalczyk made some good defensive moves. The coaching staff of the Li- ons Club noted greatly im- proved play this week, in partic- ular from Richard Tracey, but they still fell to the stronger Manvers 2 team, losing 2-0. Chase Charland scored the first goal for Manvers, assisted by Ashley Notenboom. Brandon Spearing made some good de- fensive plays, with some good strong kicks. Jessie Worden did her part by keeping the ball in the Lions Club end. Ashley No- tenboom scored the second goal on a very hard kick from inside the Lions zone, that just coasted over the goal line. Dilan and Ja- mie had some fantastic defen- give moves to keep the Lions Club off the scoresheet. Trader Sams played Brian's Towing to a 3-8 draw. Trader ' N RACE FAN | AWARENESS NIGHT Sams put forth a strong effoit, coming back from a big 2-0 gap. Goals were scored by Clayton Gilmore, two, and tie Bier- ness. Good defensive work by Jenna Phoenix and Sam Chiu- solo. Happy Birthday to Rob Larmer, and belated wishes to Molly Sprague! For Brian's Towing Trevor Lance scored two goals. Adam Landry proved to be a well rounded player scor- ing once and making many stops on his shift in net. James Stevenson did a great job on de- fense! Kevin Lukas scored a hat trick, and Matthew Kamminga and Spencer Churchill each scored once. For Raglan Welding goals were scored by Wesley Langmaid, Gregory Jeffrey and Kevin Rob- bins, with two assists by Mi- chael Anderson. In Cartwright Minor Ball the Country Uphol- stery Blues defeated Thompson's Village Market by a 16-14 score. Hitters for the Blues included Stuart Dyer, Barry Ross and David Weir. David Andrews and Joel Schryburt chipped in two hits each for Thompsons. The Flames defeated the Trojans 5-1 in Port Perry ball hockey action. Scoring for the Flames were Richie LeFort, Mike McQuade, Randy Knight, Ken Jeffrey and Carl Durward. Dennis Franssen scored the lone goal for the Trojans. The Legion Squirts defeated Bradford 8-2 in the first round of the OASA playoffs. Doing the hitting in this game was Menzies, Bailey, Maho- ny, Lally, Leatherdale, Connors and Feasby. Sunnybrae golf ladies league hosted a tourna- ment at Foxhead. Low net was Joanne Doble, Andrea Weir had the longest drive and Vera Brown was Re/Max edges Lumbermen In mini soccer last Tuesday night Re/Max Realty just edged our Scugog Lumber 1-0, to avenge their loss in the Festival Days gold medal round. The first half was kept scoreless, but Kyle Geer was able to knock one in the second half, assisted by John Tanti. Rhonda Scott, Stewart Medford and Taylor Ramsey shared the shutout. Good netminding from Mat- thew Hertzberg and Cheryl Barchuk kept the game within reach for Scugog Lumber but despite constant pressure from Allison Rudkin and Duncan Pringle they were unable to score. Also on Tuesday the Framer's Gallery shut out Slinger Trans- port 2-0. Todd Lance and Derek Goreski were the goal scorers, and both Sean Murray and Mat- thew Roth putin an excellent ef- fort. Despite the loss, Jake Pil- key, Emily Davis and Cindy Howard all played well for Slinger Transport. Technique all defeated the struggling Fowler, Davies team by a score of 3-0. Leo Tail- lon and Nelson Langmaid scored for Technique, and Kate- lyn May was as fast as lighten- ing. Despite the loss Daniel Shore and Brook MacKenzie played well in net for Fowler, Davies. Celine Batterink and Ashleigh Phoenix were kept busy in their defensive posi- tions.
